Industry Firms (4)
All major firms are considered for inclusion in each Surviscor review.
How are the firms determined?
Surviscor is responsible for selecting the firms to be reviewed based on industry importance and access to account information.
Do the firms pay to be in the reviews?
No. Unlike most other reviews, Surviscor reviews are not pay-for-play allowing consumers to trust that the key firms were included in each review.
Do the firms participate in the review?
Each firm is approached to participate through questionnaires and in-person reviews. Not all firms co-operate in the process.
Can a firm choose NOT to be in a review?
No. Many firms would love to be excluded but Surviscor includes as many as possible to ensure the results are relevant and indicative of the industry experience.
scorCard Methodology (4)
All scorCards™ are divided into key measurement categories, each containing sub-categories of multiple objective criteria. Each category is weighted according to their industry-defined importance, and each company is provided with a category ranking and overall ranking.
Is the review a consumer survey?
No. At the present time none of the reviews involve consumer-based interaction.
Who performs the reviews?
Each firm is individually evaluated by Surviscor staff and partners using a simulated-usage approach.
Who determines the category weightings?
The categories are weighted according to industry-defined importance by participating firms.
Who determines the sub-category weightings?
The sub-categories are established by Surviscor staff and partners.
Media Affiliations and Usage (4)
Surviscor results are frequently showcased in articles and through mainstream media.
Is Surviscor paid by BNN Bloomberg to appear on segments?
No. Neither Surviscor or Glenn LaCoste have ever been compensated by BNN Bloomberg or any of its affiliates to appear on any of its segments.
Does Surviscor receive compensation from MoneySense?
No. The Surviscor-MoneySense partnership has always been based upon mutual beneficial digital exposure.
Is Surviscor paid to display any third-party media on its site?
Yes. In most cases, Surviscor receives financial compensation by industry firms to display media on the site.
Does Surviscor pay any outside sources to write content for its site?
At present NO. Surviscor produces all of its content, including blog and news posts.
Licensing Program and Use of Surviscor Awards (4)
All firms are subject to strict licensing rules to ensure results are not improperly used outside of the Surviscor environment.
Can a firm refer to a Surviscor award or honour without approval?
No. All re-production of Surviscor recognitions must be approved by Surviscor.
Is there a fee to reference any recognitions?
Yes. All firms will be charged a yearly licensing fee and must adhere to strict usage guidelines.
I see Surviscor awards on firm sites. Who produces the graphics?
Surviscor produces both #1 Award badges and Award of Excellence seals that represent approved industry excellence.
How long can a firm display an award badge or seal?
Indefinitely. All Surviscor badges and seals are labelled with the year and name of the review to avoid any confusion.
